Voice Actors and Me

I made my professional debut as a composer in 1995 and have been working as a music producer ever since. In Japan, I have also been involved in many anime-related projects. There is a major anime agency in Japan called Aoni Production, and I have worked with Aoni’s voice actors many times. For example, Aoni Production is home to Mayumi Tanaka, famous for voicing Luffy in One Piece and Kuririn in Dragon Ball, and Toru Furuya, who voiced Sabo in One Piece and Seiya in Saint Seiya.

I was in charge of music production for the voice actors of Ao Oni, playing instruments at their live performances, and serving as music director for the TV and stage shows they appeared in. My hometown has many charming bars, and I once had the chance to share drinks there with the voice actors of One Piece, just like the Straw Hat Pirates. It’s still a memorable moment for me. 

Furthermore, one of my music production mentors has sung theme songs for anime such as Initial D and Crayon Shin-chan, so I have been deeply involved in the anime music production scene since shortly after my professional debut.

My Career

I made my professional debut as a composer when I was still in high school, at the age of 17. Of course, things weren’t smooth sailing from the start. Until I was 18, I had work maybe once a week. But when I was 19, I met my mentor, who sang the theme song for Initial D, and that’s when my career as a musician truly began.

I have three mentors who have been incredibly supportive of me. The other two are also leading Japanese artists and produce singers who perform anime songs. Of course, I was also part of their team. There, I was able to acquire the skills to create music while respecting the world of anime.

Japanese animation is an art form that we can be proud of worldwide. I have been able to build a wonderful career thanks to being involved in so many amazing works of art. It’s all thanks to my mentors and the art of animations.

My Current Self

I have continued to create my own music while maintaining a good relationship with the anime industory. Besides anime songs, I have experience in film music, pop, rock, and classical crossover, and I am currently starting to produce a symphonic metal band in Finland.

And now, as a music producer, I’m working with anime fans all over the world who want to sing, creating anime song covers and original songs. Of course, I’d be happy to create music with you too!

For example, there are Japanese anime songs, like ”Zenzenzense,” where the copyright holder sings in English. You can sing those songs in English without worrying about copyright.
